It’s built around a fixed carbon boom with a comfortable, skin-friendly grip, and a large, square-shaped front handle that’s easy to hold even when wearing gloves. The construction feels solid and well-reinforced, suggesting long-term durability. At 3.4 kg including the boom for the 5.0, it’s not the lightest wing in its class, but that’s largely due to its robust materials and integrated boom design.
Speaking of the boom — it’s a standout feature. The carbon build offers excellent stiffness and comfort, making it one of the nicest feeling booms I’ve used so far. It’s removable (with a torx tool), but every Astro Wing comes with one pre-installed.
